Save the Wye

Save the Wye
Taking part in the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales, Powys Radnor Federation of Women’s Institutes joined with Erwood Station in showing leaflets of the campaign that has become the Federation's Resolution for this year together with hand made dragon flies which are among the many insects which inhabit the waterways and at risk of being affected by the pollution
The Federation stand was manned by our Chair Libby Hughes assisted by Sylvia Richards (Rhayader WI) who was demonstrating the making of the dragon flies.
The focus of attention was the visit of the Goddess of the River Wye who sauntered amongst those present giving ample opportunities for a photo showing off her glamorous and floating costume and immense height. Builth Wells Ladies Choir entertained the visitors and there was plenty to see with crafts being demonstrated and also David Bellamy’s wonderful art exhibition.
